Il sodalizio fra Luciano e Giancarlo Mazzù risale al 2002. Da allora si sono esibiti regolarmente in tutta Italia, in Europa e Stati Uniti, insieme hanno registrato una dozzina di album in duo, o in ensemble più allargati. Svolgono la loro attività fra Italia e USA. Ed in particolare a New York collaborano stabilmente con due veterani della musica improvvisata Blaise Siwula e Rocco John Iacovone.
Giancarlo Mazzù, grande virtuoso e apprezzato insegnante di chitarra jazz, è anche direttore del Dipartimento Jazz del Conservatorio di Reggio Calabria (Italia).
«Tales About Standards» è un approccio creativo ai brani famosi dell’American Songbook, che deriva dai loro acclamati CD «Seven Tales About Standards Vol.1 e Vol. 2» e «Live at the Metropolitan Room NYC», i quali ricevuto riconoscimenti quali “Top Ten CDs” El Intruso Magazine, “Best of the Year” All About Jazz, e nomination “Best Live Performance Album” agli Independent Music Awards 2014.
L’American Songbook in un tocco unico e originale, mescolando jazz tradizionale, l’arte del contrappunto, la composizione spontanea e la melodia italiana.
Apprezzati compositori, di solito suonano in concerto anche alcuni brani originali dei loro album “Tasting Beauty” e “Any Morning”.

Luciano and Giancarlo play together since 2002, touring in Europe and USA. Together they recorded a dozen of albums, in duo, or in larger ensemble.
They operate between Italy and the USA. In particular in New York City they regularly collaborate with the veterans of improvised music Blaise Siwula and Rocco John Iacovone.
Giancarlo Mazzù, great virtuoso and appreciate jazz guitar teacher, is also the director of Jazz Department at Reggio Calabria Conservatory (Italy).
«Tales About Standards» is a creative approach to famous tunes of the American Songbook, that comes from their acclaimed CDs «Seven Tales About Standards Vol.1 and Vol. 2» and «Live at the Metropolitan Room».
They have had accolades as “Top Ten CDs” El Intruso Magazine, “Best of the Year” All About Jazz, and a nomination as “Best Live Performance Album” at the Independent Music Awards 2014.
The American Popular Song in an unique, original twist, mixing traditional jazz, counterpoint, spontaneous composition and Italian melody.
Fine composers both, their concerts usually include also some original tunes from their duo albums “Tasting Beauty” and “Any Morning”.
